The Vario 2000 features our patented screw system, offering easy interchange-ability of axe blades and handles. Using a retainer cap and hex key, handles may be replaced in a matter of minutes. The retainer system was designed with a built-in safety feature that ensures loose heads are kept on the handle, eliminating the risk that they might fly off and strike nearby objects. A steel overstrike protector prevents damage to the handle in the event of a miss-swing. The hex key is included with all completely assembled units. All components are also available separately.
Because the system is standardized, all blades and handles are completely interchangeable from one Vario model to another. The blades are also interchangeable with Helko fiberglass polyamide composition handles. These lightweight, virtually indestructible handles eliminate the need for a retainer cap or overstrike protector. The handle's curved, ergonomic design provides perfect balance - minimizing fatigue and resulting in highly efficient striking power.
The patented screw system makes all blades and handles interchangeable between these two variations. Seven different blades and four handle lengths cover the majority of applications, and give you the unparalleled ability to combine the right tool head and handle for the task at hand.
All blades are hardened to the German DIN 7287 B manufacturing standard for maximum life and reliability.
Note: Due to design differences between these two handle systems, each requires a different screw set. If you will be replacing a Vario 2000 wooden handle with a composite handle, you must use that handle's particular screw set. In addition, Vario 2000 wooden handles must use the Overstrike Protector (Item #36066) and the Retainer Cap & Screw Set (Item #36062). All products are made in Germany. Manufactured from German C45 high grade carbon steel (Rockwell Hardness 53-56 HRC).
